Is theonlyskincare dermatology tested?

I am often asked, is theonlyskincare dermatology tested?

Let's start by understanding what "dermatology tested" actually means.

Dermatology is a branch of medicine that is concerned with the health of the skin and the treatment of diseases that affect the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. A dermatologist is a doctor whose medical practice specializes in dermatology. They have a vast knowledge of the numerous conditions that could potentially cause skin conditions. This makes them knowledgeable of skin remedies and medications that are effective in treating different types of skin ailments.

dermatologically tested product simply means that a product was tested in consultation with or by a dermatologist. This testing is simply looking to see if the skin can tolerate the product or if they are signs of skin reactions.

The basic claim for a dermatologically tested product is that the product has been tested on human skin, the formula is "mostly" safe when applied to the skin, the product was tolerated by the person who tested it, and in most cases, it did not cause adverse skin reactions. It may be possible that some of the individuals did not tolerate the product well or not at all.

Therefore, a label that states “dermatologically tested” without any further, details has no real practical value and does not inform the user regarding the efficacy of the ingredients in the product.

Important information would include the details of the tests that were carried out. Information like how often was used, how long the testing was for, amount of product applied, which body part the product was applied and results or data for the testing. The only way to get this information is to ask the manufacturer for specific details regarding the test design and results.
